Scholars Banquet
Members of the orchestra will perform at the Maryville Scholars banquet on April 11 at 6:00pm at the Hilton. Congratulations go to all Maryville Scholars honored at the event.
All State Orchestra
The following MHS orchestra students were selected to participate in the 2007 Tennessee All State Honor Orchestra: Rebekah Blackstock, viola; Camille Crumpton, harp; and Satoshi Yamanaka, violin. Congratulations to these students for their achievement! All State Orchestra will be held at the new Schermerhorn Symphony Hall in Nashville, Tennessee this year April 18 - 21.
Orchestra Roast
The orchestra roast will take place on May 7 at 5:00 at Sullivan's Downtown. This event is for orchestra members only. Bring your appetite and your sense of humor!
Spring Concert
The spring concert this year will feature senior soloists Maia Kaine, cello (Saint-Saens); Courtney Orr, violin (Boulanger); Amy Pierce, violin (O'Connor); Julie Spalding, viola (Liszt); Emily Thaldorf, violin (Mozart); and Rachel Waters, violin (Mussorgsky). Among the pieces presented by the freshman orchestra is the exciting Capriccio Espagnole by Rimsky-Korsakov, and the combined orchestras will finish the evening with the first movement of Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. The concert will be held May 8 at 7:30 at First Baptist Church.
Graduation, May 14
Selected students from the Maryville High School orchestra will perform at the graduation ceremony on May 14 at the Civic Coliseum, 500 Howard Baker Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37915. If you are one of the selected students, please see Mr. Robinson for details.
